Hello there, some people have asked about my very low passing out-put as the third (3rd) National Football League (NFL) Black Quarterback to make a football team. What I did is no comparison to what the fellow who played ahead me "Broadway" Joe Willie "WhiteShoes" Namath did over his illustrious NFL career. I understood from the beginning that "Joe was the Show" and not me as the first African American Quarterback for the New York Jets, nor any "White-Boy" Quarterback period was going to play while Joe was healthy. Because when Joe was healthy, he was the best. I long since learned not to compare myself with others, for it would be too easy to become vain and bitter. Anyway, for my own psyche, I knew whoever "Backed-up the Best" had to be "As Good or Better!"

Now for anyone who wants to compare, check out future NFL Hall of Fame's Warren Moon's passing feats opposed to NFL Hall of Fame great Joe Montana. Warren Moon out performed Joe Montana in every category save one, but Joe Montana won four (4) Super Bowl Championships.

Even with all this said and history taken into account the times then and now, I am encourage by a statement made by Warren Moon in a sports talk show interview, he gave credit to James Harris (former Los Angeles Rams great QB) and a couple of others for his opportunity to play in the National Football League. The late Tennessee State University great and the NFL's first regular season starting Black QB "Jefferson Street" Joe Gilliam and me John Jones from Fisk University were the couple of others that Warren Moon spoke about. I find comfort in knowing that after me, the One Black QB Who Was There But Did Get To Not Play, the door that had been locked to so many Black QBs had been taken completely "Off Its Hinges!!!"
