I used to (still have the original Grant Deed, which I never signed off on) own a property which was a part of the Original Spanish Land Grant Granted by the King of Spain to the ESPINOSA family in S. California. My home was the original Rancho Casa Diego. This property was also a portion of the Original Spanish Land Grant of the San Diego RanchoGrant to the Espinosa Family. Fortunately, some of the Original Spanish Families remained in what used to be called Velez del Sol and later called Valez del Oro which is now called "Hemet-San Jacinto Valley."

Some think the history of S. California are "beautiful." In fact; There has been nothing but "land grabbing and brutality" in the history of S. California. Anyone of "historic knowledge" of the areas will tell you; There are two California's. Northern & Southern. The Northern portion comes down as far as "Riverside County." Once the boundary line is established for Riverside County, ITS A WHOLE and ENTIRELY DIFFERENT BALL GAME when it comes to Politics and Structure of Legal System." This takes in Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, etc.

In regards as to whether the Mexicans were in Southern California or not, go to the HIDALGO TREATY. You will find nearly every piece of land west of the Mississippi, North to the Canadian Border, South to Old Spanish Mexico, West to California, Oregon originally were Granted by Spanish Land Grants by the King of Spain once belonged to "Spanish Mexico." You will find the Constitutions of Iowa, Utah etc, written in SPANISH.
The U.S. purchased Florida and Louisiana from Spain, later purchased Alaska from Russia.

The Mexicans, as we know them today, on the other hand, came into S. California after the boundaries of the United States was drawn up, which drew a boundary line across the peninsula which is known as BAJA when Poncho Villa rode into the area. Louis Wilhelm, Dee Espinosa, Louis Vargas and other old rancher's who's ranch's he visited, were still alive when I lived in S. California. They lived the times, and told many stories about Poncho Villa and his men riding up to the ranches (peaceably) seeking "money" for those in opposition to the NAPOLEON "Habsburg Maxmillian" who ruled Mexico for Napoleon.

Shortly there-after the BASQUE Banking Families involved in this ISLAMIC BANKING AGGRESSION against the United States commenced having problems. Later came the problems of the "Not Now Performing Gold Derivatives" held by U.S. Dept of the Treasury & Fed. Reserve currently trying to "save their own bacon, and the bacon of the U.S. Banks, U.S. Trading Houses, and such as Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Solomon Brothers, Morgan-Chase, ABN AMBRO, Credit Swiss, UBS, FLEET BOSTON etc.
