February 7, 2007 -- The extended clan of George W. Bush includes the family of convicted child molester Mary Kay Letourneau.

George H. W. Bush and John G. Schmitz, Sr. were fellow GOP members of the House of Representatives in 1970. However, the links between Schmitz, a former John Birch Society member who was ousted because of his extremism and who was detested by President Richard Nixon, and the Bushes go beyond sharing right-wing political beliefs. John G. Schmitz, Jr., the attorney son of the late Congressman Schmitz, was deputy counsel to President George H. W. Bush. He refused to testify before Iran-Contra Independent Counsel Judge Lawrence Walsh. Schmitz also clerked for then U.S. Appellate Court Judge Antonin Scalia from 1983 to 1984. Schmitz's sister is Mary Kay Fualaau (formerly Letourneau), a former elementary school teacher in Washington State  who was convicted of two counts of statutory rape of her 13-year old student in 1996. Letourneau gave birth to a daughter. Letourneau later married the student.

The elder Schmitz, the 1972 presidential candidate of the American Independent Party (the party that was later disowned by its 1968 presidential candidate, Alabama Governor George C. Wallace), died in January 2001, the same month George W. Bush was sworn in as President. Like Bush, Schmitz was fond of making Hitler-like salutes. Columnist Michael Barone wrote about Schmitz's  presidential candidacy, [Schmitz] "distinguished himself with his direct talk and 'puckishly humorous' wit." Schmitz suggested that he had no problem with Nixon going to China, he just objected to his coming back. Schmitz accused Nixon of being backed by Moscow and Peking. As for Democratic candidate George McGovern, Schmitz accused him of being endorsed by Hanoi and the Manson Family. Schmitz was endorsed by the neo-Nazi Liberty Lobby, a group that promoted Holocaust denial and whose founders had links to George Lincoln Rockwell's American Nazi Party. After George Wallace was shot in 1972 by Arthur Herman Bremer, Schmitz condemned Wallace for reverting back to the Democratic Party. It was later discovered that Bremer had strong contacts in Milwaukee with the John Birch Society, a group with which Schmitz had strong links. In 1982, Schmitz, a California state senator, was under investigation by child protective service workers. A 13-month old baby boy, later discovered to have been fathered by Schmitz and his German political science student at Santa Ana College, was found to have had hair tied around his penis to the point the organ was almost severed.

John G. Schmitz Jr. is married to the sister of Columba Bush, wife of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush. Letourneau-Fualaau's and John Schmitz  Jr.'s brother is Joseph Schmitz, the Defense Department Inspector General under Donald Rumsfeld who helped cover up sexual depravity, including child molestation, in Abu Ghraib and other American concentration camps. Joseph Schmitz also served as an assistant to Attorney General Edwin Meese. Joseph Schmitz, an activist with the right-wing Federalist Society and a member of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, is now General Counsel for the Prince Group, the parent firm of mercenary firm Blackwater USA. The Prince Group is run by Erik Prince, a White House intern for George H. W. Bush. Prince's father, Edgar, was a co-founder of the right-wing Christian Family Research Council (now run by Tony Perkins) with Gary Bauer. Prince's sister, Betsy, a former chair of the Michigan Republican Party, is married to Dick DeVos, a wealthy neo-con Republican who is the son of Amway co-founder Richard DeVos. The younger DeVos lost the 2006 Michigan gubernatorial race to Governor Jennifer Granholm.

It is plausible that Paul means to refer specifically to the Cybelean/Attis mystery cult in the first Chapter of Romans. This was one of the most prominent cults in Rome, and had an history going back several hundred years in the region. The priests and priestesses, called galli, attempted to achieve gender neutrality in service to their god/dess.

In addition, the galli's temples were always filled with doves, because the galli thought they were too holy to touch, to shoo them away. The fact that all of these animals were normative in the Cybelean temples and Paul mention them by name, makes it highly likely that Paul was specifically referring to this cult in Romans 1.

One of the primary ideas of the galli was to remove gender differences. This occurred through transvestism, and physically cutting off one's genitals. Part of this was also assuming the sexual characteristics of the opposite gender, so the male galli would serve sexually "as women" to male worshippers in the temple. Women were known to cut off their breasts and have lesbian relationships to transcend their gender. Women had sex with men too, but in order to avoid pregnancy, again like Cybele, they would have anal sex, not vaginal.

During their annual festival, the Day of Blood, the galli would wander around in the streets in full cross-dress: amulets, flowing robes, make-up, depilated bodies and long hair dyed blond. They would dance around in a frenzy with tambourines and flutes, often with knives or swords, with which they would cut their arms, (self mortification) letting blood to help them tell fortunes for the people who would give them money. In both the Greek and Roman sources, gender variant, frenzied and orgiastic festival behaviours are described, continuing at least up to the forth century. Most of the Christian invectives focus on their gender-variant sexual behaviours, as encompassed in the pagan rituals.

Galli was the Roman name for castrated followers of the Phrygian goddess Cybele, which can be regarded as transgendered in today's terms. The chief of these priests was referred to as the archigallus.[1]

Cybele's Galli were similar in form to other colleges of priests in Asia Minor that ancient authors described as "eunuchs", such as the priests of Atargatis described by Apuleius and Lucian, or the galloi of the temple of Artemis at Ephesus.

The first Galli arrived in Rome when the Senate officially adopted Cybele as a state goddess in 203 BC. Until the first century AD, Roman citizens were prohibited from becoming Galli. Under Claudius, however, this ban was lifted.

Further information is difficult to come by, given the persecution faced by followers of Cybele and other pagan deities after the Theodosian edict of 391 AD. All of her temples were destroyed, with orders that they should never be built upon (in contrast to the usual practice of converting non Christian religious sites). As a result the only surviving records of the Galli come from historians and archivists. The accuracy of such records is often dubious because of the gender biases of most ancient writers.

BLACK STONE

The Black Stone (called Al-Hajarul Aswad in Arabic) is one of the most sacred holy relics in Islam. It is generally believed to be a fragment of a meteorite, roughly 50 cm in diameter. It is the foundation of the Kaaba, the most sacred mosque in Islam. It is the cornerstone of one of the four corners of the religious construction, though it can be recognized instantly because it is surrounded by a silver band. The Stone is actually broken into several pieces, and the band holds them together. Silver nails are used to fasten the silver band to the Stone.

Muslims believe that this stone fell from the sky during the time of Adam, and that it has the power to cleanse worshippers of their sins by absorbing them into itself. The Black Stone is believed to have originally been colored white, but it turned black because of the sins it has absorbed over the years.

As part of the Kaaba, the Black Stone resides in the city of Mecca. Muslims who have come to Mecca for the hajj try to kiss or caress the stone and Kaaba, or at least point to it, when they arrive during the pilgrimage. Islam dictates that pilgrims circle the Kaaba seven times.

The Aryan Nation and neo-Nazis in the Washington, DC area, which include the people who congregate around Barnes Review publisher Willis Carto, are more closely associated with The Fellowship Foundation, the group of Big Business evangelicals who have traditionally worshipped the notorious Nixon era anti-Semite and Bush family friend Billy Graham as a godly presence on Earth. The Fellowship, sponsors of the annual National Prayer Breakfast, set up its headquarters in Arlington, Virginia around the same time that George Lincoln Rockwell, the head of the American Nazi Party, took up residence in the Washington, DC suburb. The founder of The Fellowship, Abraham Vereide, was an ardent admirer of Adolf Hitler and his successor, Douglas Coe (who is considered by Hillary Rodham Clinton as her "spiritual adviser') has supported some of Latin America's and Africa's most vicious fascist dictators. One of Rockwell's original lieutenants was Willis Carto, the head of the extreme right wing Liberty Lobby and publisher of various anti-Semitic, holocaust denial, and extreme right-wing periodicals.

However, Carto has had something many of his ilk do not have -- access to large amounts of capital. In Washington, money can buy legitimacy and Sun Myung Moon and others have proven that with access to large troughs of money, various conferences and seminars can be held that appear to have a semblance of legitimacy. Moon, who has made no secret of his anti-Semitism and admiration of Hitler, has drawn members of Congress and the Bush Cabinet to his various functions. George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush have actively participated in Moon's functions. However, the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has its own political agenda, has never criticized the Bushes for their attendance at these functions nor has it shined a light on Sen. Clinton's involvement with Coe and The Fellowship. Nor has the Law Center criticized "Southern heritage" groups and Jewish veterans' groups for their participation in Civil War memorial functions that honor people like the Confederacy's Secretary of War Judah P. Benjamin, a prominent Jewish slave owner and racist who was long active in Confederate politics and who fled the United States after the Civil War.

War. Chaos and war are what Vice President Dick Cheney and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld are in the process of unleashing across South America. Look carefully at what they are up to.

Religious hoaxster Pat Robertson used his Christian Broadcasting Network telecast Aug. 22, to issue an in-your face call for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Cha´vez. “If he [Cha´vez] thinks we’re trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It’s a whole lot cheaper than starting a war.”

In the ensuing national and international uproar, the Bush - Cheney State Department laconically commented that Robertson’s remarks were inappropriate.” And Defense Secretary Rumsfeld brushed the matter aside:
“Our department doesn’t do that type of thing. He [Robertson] is a private citizen. Private citizens say all kinds of things all the time.”

What makes Robertson’s remarks particularly dangerous—a threat to U.S. national security, which must be repudiated by President Bush, in the words of Lyndon LaRouche— are two additional considerations.

William G. (Jerry) Boykin 4.18.06 is the general who has recently been appointed to a senior Defense Department post. Over the last two years the general has given dozens of addresses to evangelical Christian groups in which, describing his battle with a Somali (Muslim) warlord, he has said: “I knew that my [g]od was bigger than his [g]od.

First, Robertson is closely linked to fundamentalist “spoon-bender” killers like Gen. Jerry Boykin, and other lunatic fringe political associates of Vice President Dick Cheney, as we document in the pages that follow. That grouping is out to stage a second 9/11 terrorist incident in order to launch a new war against Iran, including the use of tactical nuclear weapons. Robertson, like Jerry Falwell and related “Christian right” fundamentalists, flourished under the George H.W. Bush Administration, and were financially bailed out in 1995 by none other than the infamous Rev. Sun Myung Moon—himself a Bush ally, and a long-standing asset of the Nazi networks associated with the Ibero-American drug trade.

Second, Robertson’s comments are part of an ongoing rampage of assaults against the nations of South America, being carried out by U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney personally, and by his allied spoon-benders, including Rumsfeld, who just returned from a mid-August trip to Paraguay and Peru. Cheney and Rumsfeld—the “Burke and Hare” of Washington, D.C.—fully intend to sink the region into fratricidal border wars, civil wars, and economic chaos, using Paraguay as their touchstone.

Those oligarchical financier interests are well on their way to producing a string of failed states in South America— the governments of Paraguay, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru are all hanging by a thread, as of this writing—much as they are doing in Southwest Asia as well. Such “failed states,” or areas described as otherwise “ungovernable,” are frequently cited by Rumsfeld et al. as justification for establishing a supranational military force that would intervene in such areas, purportedly to “fight terrorism” or “re-establish order.” But their actual mission would be to put an end to the era of sovereign nation-states, and seize control of all raw material assets. Such a supra-national military force would be the modern equivalent of the Nazi Waffen SS, and would be deployed to similar effect.

THE JESUITS IN PARAGUAY
Centuries earlier, Paraguay had also been the target of British and Hapsburg deployed hooligans, in the form of the Jesuits, a nominally Catholic religious order which for centuries has served as a battering ram for Venetian Aristotelian liberalism. In 1767, Spanish King Charles III (1759-88), an ally of the American Revolution, expelled the Jesuits from the entire Spanish Empire—including Paraguay, where they had built up a significant following. How had the Jesuits achieved this? Suffice it to quote from Friedrich Schiller’s famous brief 1788 account, The Jesuit Government in Paraguay:

In a campaign which preceded the battle of Paraguay, fought on the 12th of September 1759, between the Jesuits and the united Spanish-Portuguese army, two Europeans, who had fought with desperate bravery, were brought in among the different Indian prisoners. . .[They confessed] they were Jesuits. . . .
When their pockets were searched, a small book was found. . . [with] the chief tenets of the religion, which the Order had sought to implant in their Indian subjects [such as]. . .
“6. Man must defend himself against his enemies.
“7. The enemies are the white men, who come from a far distant region, to conduct war, and are cursed by God.
“8. The Europeans, i.e. the Spanish and Portuguese, are such people who are cursed by God. . . .
“10. God commands that we exterminate his enemies and go forth to their country, to exterminate them. . . .
“5. God permits him, who despises temporal goods and is always ready to fight against the friends of the devil, to do everything with a woman. . . .
“20. Whoever be the cause, that our weapons extend to Europe, he shall have many beautiful maidens (Virgins) in Paradise. . . .
“27. One must give to the Kaus [Jesuit priests— ed.] all fruits of the land and all labor of mankind. . . .”

CHRISTIAN EVANGELISM GROUNDED AT AIR FORCE ACADEMY

Have some Evangelical Christians been too forceful in sharing their faith at the Air Force Academy? That question has been at the heart of an investigation at the Academy. The United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs is under the microscope because of allegations of ‘religious insensitivity.’

AUSS claimed that evangelical Christians at the Academy, especially commanders, were pushing their faith on non-believing cadets - like Christian prayers before class and at mealtimes, Bible verses sent in e-mail attachments, and commanders introducing themselves as born-again Christians.

"What this story involves is an elaborate function, I will say, that was an offshoot of a government program. The MK-Ultra program was developed in the 1950s by the CIA.

During the Feb. 5 hearing, Noreen Gosch stunned the court with sworn testimony linking U.S. Army Lt. Col. Michael Aquino (ret.) to the nationwide pedophile ring. Her son, Johnny, then 12 years old, was kidnapped off the streets of West Des Moines, Iowa, on Sept. 5, 1982, while he was doing his early-morning newspaper deliveries. Since his kidnapping, she has devoted all of her time and resources to finding her son, and to exposing the dangers that millions of children in America face from this hideous, literally Satanic underground of ritualistic deviants.

Then, the Aquino bombshell: "Well, then there was a man by the name of Michael Aquino. He was in the military. He had top Pentagon clearances. He was a pedophile. He was a Satanist. He's founded the Temple of Set. And he was a close friend of Anton LaVey. The two of them were very active in ritualistic sexual abuse [Sex Magick?]. And they deferred funding from this government program to use [in] this experimentation on children.

Under questioning from DeCamp, Gosch reported: "I know that Michael Aquino has been in Iowa. I know that Michael Aquino has been to Offutt Air Force Base [a Strategic Air Command base, near Omaha, which was linked to King's activities]. I know that he has had contact with many of these children."

On Aug. 14, 1987, San Francisco police raided Aquino's Russian Hill home, which he shared with his wife Lilith. The raid was in response to allegations that the house had been the scene of a brutal rape of a four-year-old girl. The principal suspect in the rape, a Baptist minister named Gary Hambright, was indicted in September 1987 on charges that he committed "lewd and lascivious acts" with six boys and four girls, ranging in age from three to seven years, during September-October 1986. At the time of the alleged sex crimes, Hambright was employed at a child care center on the U.S. Army base at Presidio.

Aquino was deeply involved in what has been called the "revolution in military affairs" ("RMA"), the introduction of the most kooky "Third Wave," "New Age" ideas into military long-range planning, which introduced such notions as "information warfare" and "cyber-warfare" into the Pentagon's lexicon.

In the early 1980s, at the same time that Heidi and Alvin Toffler were spinning their Tavistock "Third Wave" utopian claptrap to some top Air Force brass, Aquino and another U.S. Army colonel, Paul Vallely, were co-authoring an article for Military Review. Although the article was never published in the journal, the piece was widely circulated among military planners, and was distributed by Aquino's Temple of Set. The article, titled "From PSYOP to Mindwar: The Psychology of Victory," endorsed some of the ideas published in a 1980 Military Review article by Lt. Col. John Alexander, an affiliate of the Stanford Research Institute, a hotbed of Tavistock Institute and Frankfurt School "New Age" social engineering.

Aquino and Vallely called for an explicitly Nietzschean form of warfare, which they dubbed "mindwar." "Like the sword Excalibur," they wrote, "we have but to reach out and seize this tool; and it can transform the world for us if we have but the courage and the integrity to guide civilization with it. If we do not accept Excalibur, then we relinquish our ability to inspire foreign cultures with our morality. If they then devise moralities unsatisfactory to us, we have no choice but to fight them on a more brutish level."

For Aquino, "mindwar" is a permanent state of strategic psychological warfare against the populations of friend and foe nations alike. "In its strategic context, mindwar must reach out to friends, enemies and neutrals alike across the globe ... through the media possessed by the United States which have the capabilities to reach virtually all people on the face of the Earth. These media are, of course, the electronic media—television and radio. State of the art developments in satellite communication, video recording techniques, and laser and optical transmission of broadcasts make possible a penetration of the minds of the world such as would have been inconceivable just a few years ago." Above all else, Aquino argues, mindwar must target the population of the United States

The Pentagon yesterday faced a deepening rift between its civilian and military leadership over the war on Iraq after a fourth retired general called for the defence secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, to stand down.

In the latest in a torrent of criticism centred on the Pentagon chief, Major General John Batiste, who led a division in Iraq, said Mr Rumsfeld's authoritarian leadership style had made it more difficult for professional soldiers. "We need leadership up there that respects the military as they expect the military to respect them. And that leadership needs to understand teamwork," he told CNN on Wednesday.

The ferocity of the attacks and calls for serving officers to go public with their dissent was starting to cause concern among military analysts yesterday. "If this opens up so we have more and more officers speaking up and blaming Rumsfeld and blaming senior civilians, then it is possibly heading towards a fairly dangerous civilian-military crisis," said Andrew Bacevich, a military historian at Boston University.

"It's a bursting of the dam in some ways of the frustration and anger, not only with the policies but with the way that Mr Rumsfeld has interacted with people, the disrespect he has shown to the military," said Richard Kohn, a military historian at the University of North Carolina.

"You have a group now that is looking back and saying: 'Wow. I should have said something earlier.' I think as time goes on it is natural that more and more generals after agonising over what they have seen over the last three years might voice their concerns," said Robert Work, a retired Marine colonel and an analyst at the Centre for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments.

But some in the military are anxious to avoid blame for the Iraq war. "The senior civilian leadership is going to do everything it possibly can to avoid having responsibility for the war fixed on them, and the senior military leadership is equally determined to have them left holding the bag," Mr Bacevich said.

“An absolute non-issue with the American print and TV media is the control by very powerful gays of the top policy levels of the White House. Growingly pointed comments inside the Beltway social clubs, homes and watering places about Karl Rove’s “good friend” ‘Jeff Gannon’ are being very thoroughly ignored by the mainline press.

There are two reasons for this crashing silence. One is the fact that a large number of powerful and wealthy Republicans are gay and do not want their wives and children to discover that they put on leather underwear and spend their spare time at the Eagle over on New York Avenue or getting rough trade action at the Crew Club

President George W. Bush landed in a Navy S-3B jet on the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, off the California coast, on May 1, 2003. In what may go down in history as the most expensive pre-election campaign stunt by a sitting American President, Bush delivered the words that now haunt his Presidency: "Mission accomplished."

Nevertheless, as President Bush was prancing around the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, telling the sailors how much he "preciated" their efforts, hard-working combat commanders from the Central Command (CENTCOM), and officials of the interim occupation authority, the Office of Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance (ORHA), under Gen. Jay Garner (ret.), were cobbling together a plan for the rapid transfer of power to the Iraqis—a plan that offered the last best hope for an exit strategy, to restore stability and sovereignty to an Iraq that is today viewed by many experts as caught hopelessly in a rapidly spreading, out-of-control civil war.

At the same time that there was still a chance to repair some of the damage done by the preemptive invasion, and do the right thing in Iraq, the U.S. State Department was being offered an opportunity to open comprehensive talks with Iran, covering everything from Tehran's assistance in the post-Saddam Iraq stabilization and reconstruction, to Iran's nuclear energy program, to Iran's relationship with Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad.

Within weeks of Bush's PR stunt on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, all of these opportunities had been flushed down the toilet by the "Cheney Rumsfeld Cabal," to use the terminology of Col. Lawrence Wilkerson (ret.), who was, at the time, the chief of staff to Secretary of State and former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, Gen. Colin Powell (ret.).

Instead of a comprehensive solution to the Persian Gulf crisis, we got what can only be called "Halliburton's War," the three-year descent into Hell, during which time, thousands of American GIs were killed or maimed, Iraq became engulfed in an ever-growing asymmetric warfare insurgency, and a parade of private military corporations (PMCs), led by Halliburton, raked in tens of billions in U.S. taxpayers' dollars and Iraqi Oil-for-Food funds, left over from the Saddam Hussein era. Pentagon and Congressional investigations have confirmed that the PMCs, particularly Halliburton, have engaged in crass war profiteering, with the latest Pentagon audit concluding that Halliburton's Kellog Brown and Root (KBR) subsidiary has systematically over-billed U.S. taxpayers by 25% on all of their Iraq logistics and reconstruction contracts, since the beginning of the Iraq imbroglio.

As EIR documented last week, the architects of the Iraq War had a larger "transformational" agenda: to set the precedent for the privatization of war, by giving the lion's share of the post-combat occupation mission to a combine of PMCs, collectively modelled on the neo-feudal British East India Company, which had administered the 18th- and 19th-Century British Empire through a private cartel of banks and chartered corporations. Today, this system is called "globalization," and the leading champions of the privatization of national security are Synarchist bankers, typified by Felix Rohatyn and George Shultz.

Iran's 'Grand Bargain'
At the exact moment that Generals Abizaid, McKiernan, and Garner were putting together a comprehensive exit strategy from Iraq, the Iranian government sent an offer to Washington that was almost too good to be true. As reported by Gareth Porter, in early May 2003, Tehran sent a letter to the U.S. State Department, via the Swiss Ambassador in Tehran. The letter would be referred to as Iran's "grand bargain." The Khatami government, with the backing of the Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, proposed to open comprehensive talks with the Bush Administration on a wide range of issues, including Iran's nuclear energy program; Iranian assistance in stabilizing Iraq, with its large Shiite majority; Iran's support for Hamas and Islamic Jihad; and the prospect of Hezbollah being transformed into a strictly political institution within Lebanon. The Iranians also proposed to give the Americans information about al-Qaeda members in Iranian custody, in return for the American side providing information about the (Tank Girls) Mujahideen el-Khalq (MEK), an Iranian exile group on the U.S. State Department's list of terrorist organizations, based in Iraq.

Cheney-Rumsfeld Cabal Reacts
With events turning potentially against the war party, both on the ground inside Iraq, and on the diplomatic level with Iran, Vice President Cheney and the neo-con civilian apparatus inside the Pentagon made their move. In what amounted to a quiet, but deadly policy coup, Cheney and company killed the Iraq exit strategy and poisoned the dialogue with Iran.

The man that Cheney and company chose to kill both initiatives was a longtime George Shultz and Henry Kissinger protégé, Ambassador L. Paul Bremer. Bremer had earned his stripes at the State Department, first as executive assistant to Kissinger, and later as Shultz's ambassador for combatting terrorism. In 1989, when he left the government, Bremer stepped in as managing director of Kissinger Associates, a post he held until 2000.

In his own self-serving memoir of his tour of duty as the head of the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) from May 2003-June 2004, Bremer made it clear that his appointment as proconsul in Baghdad was a Cheney-Rumsfeld manuever. The two people who called him, to solicit his help in Iraq were: Lewis "Scooter" Libby, then Cheney's chief of staff and chief national security aide; and Paul Wolfowitz. Bremer had worked with both men in George Shultz's State Department during the Reagan years.

The MEK philosophy mixes Marxism and Islam. Formed in the 1960s, the organization was expelled from Iran after the Islamic Revolution in 1979, and its primary support came from the former Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein since the late 1980s.

The group’s worldwide campaign against the Iranian Government stresses propaganda and occasionally uses terrorism. During the 1970s, the MEK killed US military personnel and US civilians working on defense projects in Tehran and supported the takeover in 1979 of the US Embassy in Tehran. In 1981, the MEK detonated bombs in the head office of the Islamic Republic Party and the Premier’s office, killing some 70 high-ranking Iranian officials, including chief Justice Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti, President Mohammad-Ali Rajaei, and Premier Mohammad-Javad Bahonar.
